New Year, New Kitchen

by Ian Phillips

So, you might be thinking: another year has come and gone, and here I am with my same old kitchen. You have dreamed about remodeling your kitchen dozens of times but somehow or another you never got around to it. Well, there is no time like the beginning of a brand-new year to take hold of what you want and make your dreams into a reality.

The first step to designing your new kitchen is simply, what style are you looking for? There is ranch style, Mediterranean style, mid-century modern, historic ’30s, or craftsman home kitchens to name just a few. What kind of architecture does your home have and will you decide to remain true to the home or switch it up?

A Kitchen is not just the place where food is prepared. It is a gathering place for family, friends, and neighbors and ultimately reflects your family’s style. So, make sure to have a thorough discussion with any prospective builder and see if they grasp how you use your kitchen space, and what you expect from your kitchen remodeling project.

Do you eat out often, or cook every night? How large is your family? Are you interested in increasing countertop space, storage space, or both? Do you like open concept or a cozier feel? What materials do you want to use? These are just a few questions, but the more specific you are with your ideal kitchen the easier it will be for your builder to help you get what you want.

Remodeling your kitchen is the number one thing you can do to add value to your home, however it can also be pricey. So it is very important to budget, budget, budget. Here at Avalon Construction Corp we will listen to your dream kitchen and then help you get everything within your budget, because that is what a great builder does.

So start out the new year right. A new kitchen can change the entire dynamic of a home and bring people together doing what is best for you and your family.
