Our Fundraising Events: Giving back to the Community

by Ian Phillips

When building a house Avalon Construction Corp looks for any opportunity to give back to their community and more; so we jump on any opportunity to help a deserving cause building beautiful Malibu homes.

So speaking of giving back we have two private fundraisers coming up on our horizon. They are both taking place in Avalon Construction Corp’s newest luxury Malibu home, just east of Point Doom, which was designed and built by Michael Torrey. This beautiful museum quality single-family home is perfect for a large fundraiser, being able to comfortably hold a few hundred people. The open-concept design lends itself to being ideal for any fundraiser or charitable event.

The first event, AXiS, will feature local Malibu art, as well as, acclaimed designers. And a portion of the proceeds will go to Angels Nest TLP. Angels Nest Transitional Living Program is a privately funded 501 non-profit organization designed to support transitional youth, ages 18 to 24 years old, who have aged out of the foster care system and/or who are homeless youth. Angels Nest TLP offers nine young men and five young women the opportunity to call a house their “home” while they pursue their educational and vocational dreams with the assistance and guidance of the Executive Director, Case Manager, and counselors.

The second fundraising event will include local Malibu art, Italian delicacies, music by Duo Domino, hand-picked wine, and will be hosted by Emmy and Golden Globe Winning Actor: Michael Chiklis. The proceeds from this event will be benefiting the Children’s Lifesaving Foundation. The Children’s Lifesaving Foundation’s (fondly known as the CLF!) is a non-profit organization, 501 organization, dedicated to restoring hope to homeless and very at-risk children and families in Los Angeles through academic, social and domestic support. Enabling the whole family to achieve the greatness they deserve, highlighting and encouraging their value as self-sufficient, thriving, active members of their community.

In the wake of both Hurricane Irma and Maria, both causing devastating destruction this year, we have decided to raise funds for the tormented Puerto Rico hurricane victims. The money will go toward temporary roofing, blankets and non-perishable foods, as well as, going towards supporting short-term relief efforts and enhancing the well-being of future generations.

Avalon Construction Corp is looking forward to several nights of celebration and reflection. Creating an environment where people of the community can give back to their community of Malibu and our community at large.
